Okay, Here we go!!!!
As some of you know I am rebuilding an 02SD PSD. I got it running and driving and I noticed that the fron brakes are sticking. I checked all of the fluids and they are good. I traced all the lines and there seems to be no kinks. I was curious if one of my brake extensions might be doing it but both front wheels are having the issue. The drivers side more so. (I think this is just because they need bled) It seems to be worse when you turn the steering wheel. I checked the lines that go to and fro the P/S pump and they were backwards (oooooops). So I changed them around. No fix, I then started by checking if the calipers were retaining pressure and they are. So I went to the master cylinder and cracked the lines and had pressure to with some bubbles. Okay so I know I have some air in there. SO I read up on the forums and try to turn the wheel back and forth several times and no help. So I had another master cylinder and I threw that on. Problem solved.... NOPE. It seemed to at first but as I drive it it seems to get worse. It cant be the fron axle / ring and pinion. It has no axles in it.
Any suggestions on a way to bleed the brake assist? Any one else done a master cylinder? I wonder if the air in there is doing it? (air can be compressed) so maybe it is compressing the air enough that it retains pressure? HELP PLEASE!

It sounds like your slide pins are sticking. Bad to do it our trucks. Pull brakes apart and check for dry or rust. clean and lube. Should solve your problem.
Yep, have to agree with springer and zx, check the pins. I just did my front brakes and I had one set of pins that were rusted and causing the brakes to stick a little. Long story short that was half of my break problems. $20 bucks at Ford.
I checked the pins, took them apart cleaned them and lubbed them up. They slide perfectly. I should have mentioned that also. I found a thread on here last night and I really didnt think it would work but I tried it. I just turned the steering wheel all the way one way and then all the way the other and it cured it. Who'd a guessed that. wierd but effective.

I noticed mine after a long drive.I wasent using the brakes that much, but yet they were really hot.I also felt it when i lifted the truck and spined the tire.I should spin freely, with very little drag.
i just rplaced my caliper hold down brackets and slide pins. turned the wheel after doing all of that and still seemed like it was dragging a little to much. My next question is i have rear wheel abs. is there anything special to bleeding these brakes. at what wheel should i start at , the fartherest away from the master cylinder? and how much fluid am i going to need. Im doing this tonight so thanks for any help!
