Tent Camping Recommendation
The polyurethane bottom is like a bowl and molds inside and up over the level of the truck bed. This would keep you dry, even if the bed of the truck is full of water. The setup is a no-brainer and this tent is secure. I've had it on Portsmouth Island (on the outer banks of NC) during severe thunderstorms with 40 to 50-knot gusts and could see the tent bend with the wind, but no water ever got through and the next day, after the storm, the tent was as tight to the truck as ever. Likewise, the 6' by 6' awning at the back stayed secure and tight. I recently had the tent deployed while at Lake Fontana in western NC recently (my Dad and brother got to sleep in the camper), and we had a series of severe thunderstorms in the are (and tornados in nearby Tennessee), and the tent stayed dry and secure. This is a fine camping item, people, and if you like the idea of camping OFF of the ground away from the crawly critters and want a piece of equipment WELL WORTH the $189.00 it cost, then the SportzII truck tent is definitely for you. When I go on my annual "good ole' boy roundup" camping trip with 10 to 12 buddies in the Fall, I get nothing but compliments and admiring glances when I quickly get my "campsite" set up.
I know that this is a little off of the beaten path for truck ownership and operations, but I'm always quick to recommend a GREAT product for fellow truck owners. I'll gladly answer ANY questions about this product.
p.s. I DO NOT work for the company and AM NOT getting any benefit from posting this other than giving the skinny on a great camping product. Enjoy
Steve
