Why does a 3.8 run better than a 4.2

I had to drive my wifes Ford Windstar with a 3.8L to work the other day. I noticed it seemed to have more getty up than my 2006 F150 with a 4.2L can anyone explain this to me.

the van is lighter and more aerodynamic than the truck and is probably not geared the same as the truck...

Drop that 3.8 into your F150 and see what it does. Can you say DAWG?

I don't know about running better, but the 3.8 is notorious for blowing head gaskets. If you want a fast 3.8, supersix motorsports sells them with like 300 hp.

i know what you're talking about..except our 3.8 is in a Mustang...its got some snap..our truck was s pooch..so we kicked it and got a 5.8...i know why the mustang had more get up and go though..just thought I would share my story on the subject too.
