Code problems with no muffler exhaust on a 5.4??

I’ve got a 05 f-150 5.4 and after a few threads I believe that running no muffler / duals is the way to go. However, when I mentioned this to a local exhaust shop they said I will have trouble with it sending a code / service engine light coming on. No one mentioned this when discussing how this setup would sound. Is there any truth to this or was this guy trying to sell me his system and feeding me a line?

Thx,

Brian

you should not recieve any codes from just removing the muffler-only noise!!!

Zactly! There are no sensors rearward of that second O2. Nothing to throw codes.

Before I installed my new exhaust, I ran my truck with out any exhaust after the cats for about a month ,( I don't recomend doing that) and had no check engine light at all. Our F-150's have four cats that I believe have enough restriction to not cause a sensor to throw a code.
