Fuel Guage shows E

Here is my story; I run my front tank down to 1/4 then switch to my rear tank, run it down to a 1/4 and then fill both tanks and start the cycle over. Well this time when I switched to my front tank the needle on my fuel guage droped like a rock to the big "E". I know the tank is full, but is shows empty. Any suggestions where to start on this?

are you sure someone didnt siphon it from you?

i guess the sending unit is probably bad. someone who knows more about tanks will be along to help i am sure. i would suggest running it empty if you got to pull it.

actually if you're gonna take the sender out just yank your bed off. It's a whole lot easier to work on. I just did mine. While in there replace the lower pickup assemblies in both tanks as a preventative.

a wire chaffed to ground would cause the gauge to go to empty, check wiring from sending unit ti switch if only on one tank.

I know it was not siphoned. I will check the wiring a little closer. Thanks
