A 3rd vote for the CPS!! While you're at it - get 2 and keep the one in the glovebox as a spare - you just never know when the darn things are gonna go out on you!!
nesloe1, If you check the sticky at the top of this forum (the 7.3 section), you'll see a "common mods thread" - in there is a link to help on replacing the CPS, if you need it.
Ditto on the CPS. There is a new and improved "BLUE" version out....just replaced mine with the "BLUE" and the truck runs great...smoother, quieter and more zip. The International part number is 1807339C92. Price in US is around $105. I kept my old one (which was just installed by Ford after the original one dumped) and will keep as a backup. I understand that Ford is investigating the many many premature failures of this part.
I put a new ford cps in last week. I just pulled a 25 hour road trip tis weekend to pic up a bout. The truck ran with out any probles. Ware can I git one of those blue cps? I thank evry one for youe help.
The "Blue" CPS is available through and International Truck dealer.....they are the people that made the 7.3 motors. It is reported (and I agree) that they run better than the Ford CPS because they send a stronger signal to the computer.
