I have a 67 f100 with a 390 sitting nicely up front. Problem is the electrical, or more spifically the brake lights/turn signals/cigarette lighter/hazard blinkers. They are run off of two sperate circuts, according to the fuse box, yet when I step on the brakes or try to use the signals, everything goes kaput. Any ideas?
There are many threads relating to this problem as it is discussed all the time.

Old systems can be a challenge! Usually broken, cut/spliced wires, short to ground and corroded connectors and ground connections are the most common culprits. I start with the obvious, tape, bare wires and individual lights that don't work. Each system is on a removeable wiring harness, these can be repared or replaced. Poor grounds can be cleaned or a wire soldered to the housing and ring connected to the body to improve ground. Defective switches and worn light sockets can be replaced. Take your time, study one system at a time, use cood crimp connectors, solder and plenty of dielectric grease on all removeable connections. Buy a cheap Walmart multimeter. Electric can be fun!
