ok i know its not realy ford truck related( im pullin it with one tho, does that count?)but i am trying to get a 305cid winged sprint car found, bought, and ready to race for next year. all of the cars around here are currently running a 305 chebby...next year they are goin to allow ford blocks as well...so there fore im gonna run a 302, does anyone want in on the progect? like a free block or somthing along those lines??? these guys are gettin over 450hp outa a 305 chebby....i know i can get that outa a 302 but i need a motor, and any other help i can get as well....sponsers...that sorta thing....
well, let me know what you are looking for in parts, and maybe I can help you out. I have a 302 from a 71 F100, if I am right, it maybe worth a little something to you. Other than that, let me know what physical help you need, and I will see if I can accomodate you. Cash, well, that is a tough one... I'm a pretty fair welder, fabricator and such, so it may be of use to you...
ive got a car found, actualy a couple of cars, and all of them are fairly reasonably priced(for a sprint car) ill be calling a couple of guys here in the next couple of days to see if i can land a better deal. i know the guy that runs the Caseys general stores race teams and most of the souther iowa/northern missouri bigger name sprint guys.
ive already got a block and heads found, a set of 16:1 flat top pistons, race rods, and crank found. im going to need a few one off parts ....
ive gota lot more connections than i thought but none are any good till ive got a rollin chassis..
and for any one that cant realy help out with cash or fabricating parts...ill let yall know when season starts next year in south east iowa so yall can come up and support from the stands..
fellro, you might try some of your iowa boys as well...
Codyjoe start calling people the worst they can say is no. a little BS goes a long way . I call people all the time and just ask if they have any free stuff . I know it sounds stupid but I get a lot of free stuff. I may even have a sponsor for my bronco/mud truck but try it you will be suprised!
ive already got a tire and wheel deal going for the four wheelers that will carry over to the race car....buildin the motors our selves...i think...and will have some of the countrys finest drivers/builders helpin set up the car...ive gota come up with the car and a trailer to haul it with....and drive the thing for all its worth....
ive already got a 351w ready for the 360 class but havent started on the 302, the actual limit is 318, one of my dodge buddies is buildin a slowpar underpowerd car for next year for both classes so im gonna do the same with an overpowerd oval.....
ok, i found a good car for less money than expected...and its already race ready (with this years chebby rules) http://www.hoseheadsclassifieds.com/...sifiedKey=2592
good lookin car, and he said if i can come up with the money by friday i get the top wing with it but i dont see that happenin....
as for the ford motor, ive already got the set up sheets, ill have to move the front axle forward 2 inches, and right one, and half that on the rear end....the ford block weighs more so we have to make up for that(with more power )
ok, that cars a $10 thousand dollar crash waitin to happen....
anyways ive found some better deals on rollers(race ready minus the motor) and ive found a doner block with heads....now for someone to build the motor for next to nothing.....any ideas or motor builders wanting to get their name out there?
