I'm in the process of putting my '51 on a '78 F-250 supercab frame. The front end is the same as the 67-72 but the rear is 3 1/2" wider. I have narrowed the rear to be the same as the stock frame. The main issue with our trucks is getting the front sheetmetal to fit. The sheetmetal was designed for a 32" wide front frame and the 67-79 frames have a 34" wide front so some fabrication will be required. The 67-72 frame swap is more popular on the 53-56 trucks. I have some pictures in gallery.

This afternoon I'm going to shorten the frame. Good Luck on your truck!
