You should have several different sizes. Find the smallest one that will fit over the line and slide the end that protrudes out farthest at the inside into the fitting. May have to push and twist a little. It should pop right off. If not, you can feel when you've engaged the spring, hold it in there and pull both sides apart. You may have some fuel pressure in there but it won't amount to much since the truck hasn't been running in a while. Good Luck.

I had the wrong tool it did not go small enough. I ran to Boise about 80 mile rond trip got the right one, It woked in right away with the right tool. I finished up around 7

I know what you mean, I head to reread that one to make sure I got it right. I think I would have just fabbed a makeshift tool to do the job rather than make that run.
I cut on it, and grinded on it, yelled at it stuck, my toung out at it, then cussed at it still and looked realy mean and could not get it to fit. worked like a charm with the right one.
Was a nice day for a drive except for all the people who dont know how to drive mountain roads and slowed me down
