Hey Out Threre
I Just Got An 85 Bronco 351w Ho, All Stock Except For The 2bbl Carb And Adapter Plate. I Need To Replace My Y-pipe And Am Interested In The Bassani. When I Looked It Up Online It Shows A Pipe For The 86-96 Bronco 351. Now I Know That The 80-86 Broncos Are The Same, So Is There Some Reason That I Am Not Aware Of That Bassani Only Lists The Pipe For 86-96? I Assume It Is Just An Oversite On There Part, But Has Anyone Out There Put This Pipe On An 85? Eventually I Will Add The Headers As Well. I Have Read Some Other Posts And The Bassani Seems To Come Highly Recommended. Where Is The The Best Place To Order From? Thanks In Advance For Any Help.
Actually, the Bassani Y-pipe is set up for the fuel injected trucks that have the EEC-IV system for engine and emissions control. Thats why Bassani only lists from 86-96. However, since the engine/exhaust itself didn't change, I can't imagine why you couldn't use the unit for an 86 model and simply plug the O2 sensor hole. That would be the only difference I can think of between your 85 and the 86. You might check with Bassani at their website and see, they may make one for you without the O2 sensor bung in it. I know they make one for the 96's that need THREE O2 sensor bungs, can't imagine it'd be any MORE work to build one without ANY.
