step right up & give ford your hard earned cash to test their new diesel
i made the fatal mistake of doing so with the 6.0 -2 year nightmare with 2004 & the 2006 they gave me to replace it cant go 50 miles from dealership without needing towed back

ford is a total joke
I know ford had some 6.0 problems but I still think they make the best truck going, wouldnt even look at a gm and I think dodge has a better diesel motor but the rest of the truck is questionable, most ford owners I know are happy with thier trucks..
how is the dodge any more questionable than any other truck? I keep hearing this, but then read about the same problems about the Ford's, hmmm.
The 6.0 was/is a nightmare, and for those who didn't need to be towed to the shop, then congratulations, you must have gotten a 'good' one. I'll stick to the Chev next time around, at least it has proven itself......
Sure the 6.4L may be good and hope it is but I won't be trying one for a couple years.
Dodge has had some serious transmission problems for years, but I agree with tkondro, I'm happy for anyone who is happy with the 6.0, but I will never own another one. My 6.0 Excursion never had any trouble until 200 miles out of factory warranty, I didn't think I needed extended warranty, but I spent more on shop bills after that than I did on the truck payment. I sold it and bought me a 2001 7.3 Excursion, and I couldn't be happier with it. And when the 6.4 comes out, I'm gonna give it at least 1 year to prove itself before I buy one.

A guy I know had a 99 dodge 2500 diesel, the bumper was rusting out when
the truck was 3 years old, heard of alot of tranny issues and I guess its just
me , not a dodge person, after having a K car I'm still in shock from what a
piece of junk they could put together.. I still have it in the back of my mind
that some of that inferior designing is still going on..
That it is, you can count quite a few Ford Trucks and SUVs for every chevy or Dodge. My neighborhood has atleast 3 Super Duty owners and 2 Excursion owners (myself included), and a '97 F250 owner. The rest are either Expeditions, Explorers, or Tauruses.

funny, i seem to read about many more major failures with the chevys. factor in the ford/chevy ratio of trucks on the road and well, you get the picture.
