decode vin?

0022C03731C140202

This is a vin given for a Ford truck I found to be auctioned. Is this # accurate or enough so that some one can tell me year/model/more?

No, that's a replacement title number - bears no resemblance to a vin.

The last six digits MAY be the original serial string, but who knows........

any idea what kind of sequence I should look for for a 56 C series cab over truck? I spotted that C in that "vin" and let my hopes rise a little.

Should be something like this on the front frame horn, or the rating plate tag.... C70 (600 series) J (302 CID motor Big Job trucks) 6 (model year 56) H (Detroit assembly plant) 12345 (serial number). This would be a generic vin breakdown, and not your vin, but it would be something similar.
