Flexplate

I need a 28oz flex plate for this new motor and im wondering.....the ones I found were for AOD and c6 transmission...I have an E40d, does it really matter? Oh and whats the differance between a 157 tooth and a 164 tooth? or how do I know which I will need? BTW its a 92 with a 351w E40d...

The diameter is different between the 157 and 164 tooth. Pretty sure the E4OD uses a 164 tooth. I don't know why you'd have trouble with it, my 95 E150's got both a 351W and an E4OD.

My 92 has a 351 and an e40d too, the thing is I want to get the motor all put togeather before I drop it in so that there is as little parts swapping as need be. I wont have the luxury of letting it sit while I swap parts and so on, I cant do it in my small garage so it costs me by the day to have it in the military hobby shop on base here. Not only that it would be nice to have a lightweight peice. Is my factory flexplate 28oz? If so it wouldnt be that big a deal to reuse it.

All 351's used the 28 oz flexplate/flywheel. I used to have a bunch of these layin around that came off C-4's, 6's and FMX's but I think I got rid of most if mot all. I don't know if they'll bolt up to an E4OD.

the c6 is the same as the e4od. nothing wrong with reusing what you have if its the correct weight (28oz) and 164t. any autoparts store will also carry new ones for $60 at most.
