The 351 has a taller deckheight which would keep the 302 distributer from having the proper reach.

In addition to the taller deck height, the 351 uses a larger oil pump driveshaft...not gonna fit

will it fit if I swap the shaft? All I really need is the PIP stator. Is that even the same?

I would assume all the guts are identical, the question is is it worth the effort/time involved to swap the distributor shaft itself. In addition to the oil pump shaft being larger the actual distributor shaft itself is longer for the 351...could it work...sure, but with a new 351W duraspark distributor complete and ready to run going for abt 84 bucks I'd go that route rather than transplanting guts from one to another.

Ahh, forgot we were talking eec-iv...regardless, all the above applies...better off getting the proper dist.
