Hello, I am a new poster to this forum, although I have visited it several times, for information on repairing and diagnosing problems, mainly when my 4 wheel drive quit, namely would not lockup the front diff, in the end, was one of the vacuum solenoids on the firewall. Problem I have now is with the rear air springs on my '98 F250LD. They work great, self-leveling and all, but they start leaking, or blow, after 6 months to a year of use. I do not do much heavy hauling, so they are not used a lot, so is there any suggestions as to a repair for this, cheaper than Ford, almost $300.00 each, patch the boot, or whatever. Thankyou
Don't think that there's any chance of patching the boot, but I guess I would want to know what's causing it.
I think these are provided by Firestone Industrial (which apparently is a part of Firestone that did not get taken over by Bridgestone). I bought an aftermarket auto level system from them. They may be cheaper than going through Ford. I think they are in Ohio...do a search!
