87 5 speed speedometer
Got a question for you guys,
My 87 2.3L 5 speed's speedometer dont work. I went through and narrowed it down to something inside the tranny. I replaced the gear that connected the speedo cable to the inside of the tranny. It worked for a very short time then just started to jump all over again and finally died. After it died i took out the cable gear and it looked fine...very little wear, and when i spun that the speedo worked in the truck. Im not sure what kind of tranny i have, but i would like to know if there is anything that i can do about it besides replace the tranny itself? Is there a way to get into the tranny and replace the gear that drives the cable? Thanks
