Gas Mileage on 2wd F-150

can anyone please share thier real world gas mileage on 2wd f150 (all engines) I am looking to buy between a 1988-1998 f150 and I am trying to figure out the best bet for gas mileage. Does the 300 6 get good mileage??

Thanks

I get around 11-13 on my '87 (2WD - 302 - automatic). Mainly just city driving, very short trips. (I work 2.5 miles from home and come home for lunch every day. On weekends, its usually a 10 mile trip or two to Lowe's). Not much different on highway.

Haven't had mine long but I get 14-16 around town in my 90 150 4.9 5speed, got about the same on a 300 mile highway trip ... but at 70 - 80mph most of the way. It could be better, need to change a fuel pump and reconnect some emissions.

Expect 14 or 15 and you won't be disappointed. Then, if you get 16 or 17, you'll be even happier. I get about 12 in town, 17 on the hwy.

I can push 20MPG with my 1996 300ci manual. Depends on driving style and how the rear end is geared.

Dad had a 1990 F150 2 wheel with a 302 and AOD. Had a fiberglass matching topper. Nice older truck. Anyway he would get 18 most of the time and he said he got 20 a couple times. Now he's and old man and would only drive 55 and didn't get on it very hard so that need's to be taken into consideration.

On a trip I get about the same with my 302, 5 speed and 355 gears. Mileage drops off real quick over 70.

Around town I get 15.

mileage in my 82 f100 never strays far from 14-15 mpg about 50/50 city and highway. its 2wd with the c4 auto, and a 3.55 open diff out back, with a pretty badly beat inline 6.

my 1990 f150 2wd with a 302 AOD about 18mpg.
I just put on 7 ply tires about 1" taller than the 235's seems I get a little better.
my 86 ranger with a 4.9 in 4wd gets about the same....

My 93 150 RC SB 300 M5OD ran 16 consistently with 3.55 open.

My 94 150 RC LB 302SD M5OD runs 17 consistently with 3.55 open and a highway trip will average 20-21 for the whole tank.
