I use my Craftsman Rotary tool a lot! It's similar to the Dremel rotary tool. I had the 3 setting one; Off, Lo, Hi. After a couple years of use the switch mechanism wore out and burned out. Instead of spending $70 on a new one I ordered a new switch from Sears Parts; around $20 with shipping. I always wanted the variable speed Rotary tool. I ordered the variable speed switch and compared it to my two speed switch and they are visually the same. I installed it and it brought my Craftsman Rotary tool back to life and now with variable speed settings!!! So if your Craftsman Rotary tool quit working, don't throw it out try replacing the switch!
