rebuilt 7.3 that smokes
hoping i got a cheap deal,
i bought a rebuilt 7.3 off of the internet to put in my 94 f350. the guy i bought the motor from told me it was a jasper rebuild that has 80,000 to 90,000 miles on it.he said it smoked but ran like a top and had great oil pressure. i asked what color the smoke was and he told me the guy he got the motor from could not remember. he said the guy was a nitpicker when it came to his tow truck. if anything went wrong with the motors he had in his trucks he would just pull it and put a new one in, this was the 4th engine in his 94 f450. i paid 750.00 for the motor and i am hoping it is just a fuel problem. but just in case what else could be causing the smoke. if you are wondering why i would pay so much for a motor that smoked, the reason is that was what i could afford at this time. if it does need rebuilt again than i could do it later maybe. please give me an idea of what to check or look for.
thanks
