Sliding rear window latch repair or replace
Anyone had to repair or replace the latch on the sliding rear windows of these trucks? I've seen several good threads about replacing the whole window, but that seems like an awful lot of work just to get a better latch.

LMC will sell you just the latch. It's on page ten of their 73-79 catalog, near the bottom, item 49-6836. Costs ten bucks.

Whenever I was at the wreckers I would remove the good ones as I am notorious for breaking them.

So dennis, how do those attach to the window? With glue like a rear-view mirror?

There are held on with 2 small philips head screws.

I always have my cordless drill with me

the metal ones are the best. If you find any plastic ones that are good in a wrecker, I'd wager that you'll break 'em in about ten days.

I'm always replacing the plastic ones too. Every two years or so, snap...

A good metal replacement would be ideal.
