84 valve train problem

The valve lifter push rod adjuster keeps loosening up on my 2.8liter bronco II.
Engines I have worked on in the past had a set screw to keep the adjuster from turning. Am I missing something or is loctite or silicone an option to keep it from turning?

The valve adjusters on the 2.8L and 2.9L are adjusted using an ordinary screwdriver, and then are secured from turning with a (12mm wrench?) locking nuts. The nuts require relatively little torque, only about 8 ft/lbs because the thread pitch is so fine (or shallow). Much higher and there's the risk of stripping out the threads on the rocker. If the locknut won't stay tightened, or loosens after running for a while, the problem rocker arm(s) and its adjuster may need to be replaced.
