I have a '69 F250 camper special, owned it for 7 years now. In those 7 years have replaced the passenger side rear wheel bearing seal probably 7 times because it was leaking, am pretty tired of doin it. Why would the diff oil be leaking into the drum and got any suggestions for fixing the problem? Got the oily brake blues.
Hows the bearing? And the housing inside the axle for the bearing? Either, if sloppy, will allow the axle to wobble a bit,and waller out the seal. Are you sure you have the right seal as well?
I just bought a 71 that apparently had leaking axle seals, they fixed those (too bad the wheel cyl. was destroyed and plugged solid (leak#2). I guess the axles do not leak anymore.
Though guess what, the diff. drips. You know why? Because when the vent hose for the rear axle wore away after decades noone ever replaced it and the vent tube is so plugged I can not push anything through to clear the jam! I am hoping soaking it in WD40 or something for a few days will clear it enough to push a small screwdriver through.
I had to use a twist drill bit by hand to open the hole on one of mine, because it was packed in so tight.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
I drill out the vent tube, attach a length of vacuum hose and tie the loose end up under the bed. Not pretty but effective! Use "speedy sleeves" on the axle surface where the new seal rides. Chances are it is all scored and pitted. Speedy sleeves work on leaky drive pinion seals as well. Don't know the real name for these! Napa will. They are a thin metal sleeve that slides over the axle, flange, etc. and restores the surface the seal rides on. Soak it in hot water and slide it on, quick!

You probably have a Dana 60 axle if its an f-250
the vent is through a thing that doubles as the bolt that holds a brake line fitting.
Make certain it isnt plugged or hasnt been swapped for a regular bolt at one time or another.
I had a problem like this after replacing my axle bearings on my half ton. The store I was buying my seals from kept giving me National seals so I went to another shop and got some from Chicago Rawhide and the seal lip was in a slightly different place and ended my leaky axle.
