Flowtech Headers..............390

The pasenger side header for my 69 390 has a preferated split in it where it breaks apart so it will go around the motor mount...i was told that in the colector where it breaks it doesnt need welded cause it will automatically seal after they get hot a few times but i dont believe it..........any advice?

It will seal and eventually leak a little as they age. The leak will be minimal. Dont weld it! I think you have to remove or loosen the rear half to replace the starter. Ive been running a set of headers on mine for years and have had good luck with them. In the past I have wrapped that section of the header with a header wrap material to quiet the exhaust leak. You can get the wrap in most speed shops.

haha hey man if its a ford truck then why does it gotta be fast......its made to yank right, hell i knwo my truck will its got unbelievable torque i cant drive it on wet roads it just spins posi haha......thanks too i didnt even think about the starter situation........almost got myself into trouble didnt i hehe, i was just gonna unbolt the engine moutn and lift it up and put the header on probably not the best idea though.....i did notice the old headers on my truck are the same way and they wasnt welded and when my truck builds downpressure it pops out the exhaust and i dont liek that i like the smooth rumble
