electric pump and return line???

electric pump and return line???
i have a problem with my 460 running incrediably rich it is mostly stock with only headers that i am aware of and a aftermarket electric fuel pump. my question is shouldnt there be a return line somewhere after the pump to blead off extra pressure. i have two lines coming from the a y just after the pump then before the carb they y back into one. so im wondering if someone didnt know what one was for and hooked them both up to pressure. PLEASE HELP!!!!

It depends on the pump Tony, some are designed to maintain 4-6 psi for a carb without a return line, others need a regulator and return or just a dead head regulator. Do you have two tanks?? If you can get the make, model of the pump it would help.

yes i have two tanks but i dont think the rear is hooked up but i will get the pump info if i can later today it does have a regulator in it but the gage is broke i think cause it says 3 psi even when the truck is off i just found this out today so maybe the regulator is broke?? hmm i ill have to check

well i found out the regulator diafram was torn so i replaced it put in a new regulator and it now runs better. now i think the carb is in need of some severe rebuilding so that will be next weekends prodject i think. also found out there is a return line to the tank but it has been pinched off after the stock pressure regulator.
