I finally noticed that I always drive this way when my wife pointed out that I have developed a powerful callous on my left hand underside of the wrist.
The SD Callous. My truck is causing me to evolve! Superduty Ubermenschen!
After reading this thread, I think you might be on to something....a couple years ago, on the way to the EAA Airventure in Oshkosh, WI...My GF took a pic of me while driving(unbeknownst to me, but knownst to her)
Well, I decided to look for the pic and...BEHOLD! Photographic Proof! (Well you can;t actually SEE the hand and wrist, but you can get the idea)
Yeah count tme in too! I like to find other trucks to park next to so I can see how my SD looks compred to them! Yeah, it's stupid but Im guilty!
I really like to park next to Chevy 2500HDs because they sit so damn low. Makes my truck look like it has a lift kit. I bet my F250 is a good 10" taller than a 2500HD. (I think the "HD" in the Chevy 2500HD means "hangs down" since the ground clearance on them is ridiculously low!)
My wife has a 4wd 2005 F150 Crew and even she has an attitude from her truck. Even a 4wd 1/2 ton F150 with the 5.4L is alot of steel for a 5'6" girl! Gotta love having a wife that is as looney about pickups as I am. She hates SUVs and said from now on it'll be nothing but pickups and maybe a Mustang for her!!

Say....does your wife have a sister that's single?
I agree that it applies to all Ford trucks. Last summer, after I had the paint sparkling on my '74 F100 and the chrome wheels, I'd be sitting in traffic, waiting to go home. Every once in a while, I caught people lookin' at my truck. Both windows open, right hand at 12, left arm hanging out the window. I'd just sit there, all cool, AM radio blasting the local oldies station. Even a couple of times I had people say "Nice truck" from the adjacent lane. When I drive my Ford, all my lady friends see me. That's because I look so dang cool driving my Ford. It doesn't hurt that the V8 puts out a nice tone, scaring the ricers back into their corners with their Civics.
Also, I totally have the SD Swagger. I just didn't know it until now. I always steer with my wrist with my hand hanging over the wheel. I'm glad I'm not the only one. You guys are awesome. Like a support group, or something.
Hello, My name is Mr Bass and i am a SD Swagger Addict.....

LOL!!!
I've got the swagger as well. But, it usually rears it's ugly head when in the presence of lesser beings in their mediocre Dodges and Chevys. The hand goes up and the head turns. A @#$@# eatin grin and head shake... why in the world would you drive THAT! HA HA! Get's em every time.
Hell, people now think I ride a horse the swagger is so bad!!

Couple HILARIOUS posts, right there. You guys are cracking me up!
Thought I'd add a couple other things...
I wear Ray Ban Wayfarers (yes, Blues Brothers' glasses--> ), and drive with my rear passenger side window down to hear my straight pipe, whenever it's not raining. I like driving around at dusk with only my parking lights on, just because I think it looks killer. If I pull up next to a Chevy or Dodge, I don't even glance over at them... my confidence doesn't require it; we both know what's going on. If I pull up next to another Superduty, I'll give them a nod or wink, or a friendly wave. I prefer starting the engine up when it's cold, just to hear that EBPV kick in for warmup and the straight pipe just scream like a jet.
And yes... EVERY time I park... I always look back as I walk away. Whether I'm just parking in the driveway at home, or in a parking lot at a store or restaurant... there's no helping it.
Haha, I try not to do that behind someone, but when at a light and the cross traffic is passing, at night.... I like seeing how my headlights turn the inside of EVERY car into a tanning booth. (upgraded headlight harness, Sylvania Xtravisions, too )

It's a sickness. It really is.
I guess I'm not the only one ! Everytime I park and walk away, I always turn around and give her a look...especially after a wash/wax (like yesterday) my 2000 XLT may not be the youngest girl at the ball, but she still turns heads...including mine!
I also have the 'SD Swagger' but I also noticed I palm the left 'arm' of the steering wheel. Digits wrap over the top of the arm, heel of hand at bottom of arm, and thumb rests right ontop of, or next to the raised horn logo. I only noticed this because the interior dressing I use has a perfect silhouette of my hand! I think I do this because I've always sat with a 'lean' to the left while driving...must be from my low-rider days.
HA! What about turning the steering wheel with one hand, open handed "Caddy Swangin' Style"? I do this in all of my vehicles. I was in my previous employers E350 shuttle bus and I had just picked up a group of black Navy personnel from the airport. I 'swang' the steering wheel to get out of the parking lot and they all busted up laughing, "Damn, he's driving this big body like it's a Caddy! Swangin' style!"
