Temperature control problems
I have a '98 F150 and am having some temp control issues. I've replaced the upper radiator hose, thermostat and completed a flush and fill. I have sporadic heat, and can feel a "click" or sticking when I move the temp control switch from heat to cool. Anyone have an idea where to start with this?

What size engine in your truck?
What does the temperature gauge show when the problem happens?
Have you removed the temperature control know to check for cracks where it mounts onto the shaft?

So the problem is getting heat control in the cabin? If so, I had the same problem. I flushed the radiator and heater core, new coolant, etc.... Still no heat. Then I joined this board for help. I found the answer to my problem, hopefully it will be the same for. Check your control ****. Take a needle nose pliers and pull it off. Inspect if for a hair line fracture around the post. Mine was just spinning over the control post. If this is it, you can buy a new one or switch one of the other *****. That's what I did, didn't cost a dime and took about a minute to find out that this solved my problem. Supposedly Ford in the year range are notorius for the ***** cracking. Let us know if this was it or somehthing else.
