It'd be nice to see them come back with the 9" rear. As for rides, I would love to see the Bronco come back in the form of an Early Bronco, but on its own platform. Straight axles front and rear, a V8, removable top, and as crazy as it sounds, the wipers up top!
1) Something from Ford to compete with the Dodge Power Wagon. F350 reg/ext cab shortbed, locking axles, 15K lb. winch, 33-35" tires, and a Supercharged V10. 450HP/500TQ would be nice.
2) Ranger offered with a 4.6/5.4L
3) F150 offered with the V10
4) A Lightening that will outperform the Ram SRT/10
Bring back that bronco! It's not hard to do. They can do just like they did in the old days. Use all of the Truck machining, but remove the bed and put a slightly longer cab in. I guess they feel like that gap is filled with the SUV's.
You're right Twin66. The straight 6 300 was awesome. I had one in my '81 F100 and you couldn't kill that thing. I rarely changed the oil in and it always ran great. Had over 300,000 on it when I sold it. 100,000 of those miles were mine with oil changes every 25,000 or so. I think a 300 in a Ranger would be great.
A few different things- first would have to be throttle cables. Put that one down as the second and third, too.
The next would have to be affordable rear-drive cars, like the Fairmont, Granada, etc. I know they aren't a great car in the big picture, but at the time, they were pretty decent. You could get a v8, most of the Mustang components swapped over, and they were quite affordable.
Right. Speaking of rear drive cars, I'd like to see them build a medium sized rwd coupe with a really racy inline five liter dohc six cylinder with a six speed manual. Keeping the weight down to bare minimum.
I would also like to be able to order a new vehicle with the exact options you want rather than the 'packages' or 'groups' of options the way you have to buy them now. It sucks when you want to get a single option and you have to buy a $3,000 upgrade to get it.
I'd like to see Ford build enough GT500's so that anyone who wanted one could buy it without "additional dealer markup". How about a Mach 1? And, a well styled mid sized 2 door hardtop with a V-8 and rwd.
