I realize that lots of things change in 33 years and I just want to find out where I stand on my starting point here. I've already taken a boatload of "before" pics and want to document everyhing my 15 year old son and I do to it. One previous restoration (72 Chevelle...don't shoot me It was 16 years ago). Finally have a garage and time to do another. Have read all the threads that you all have posted and they really helped me in my search for an old Ford truck. Any help will be appreciated.

I just bought a very similiar truck and I also have a 15 yr old. I hope all went well with the rebuild. Any advice for a newbie?

djwatson: Did'ja happen to notice this thread is 9 years old?

Since no one decoded all the info originally, here it is:

F10 = F100 2WD

Y = 360 2V

C = Oakville Ontario Canada Truck Assembly Plant.

F15684 = 1969.

115" Wheelbase.

T = Candyapple Red.

F100 2WD, 5,000 lbs. GVWR

N 81: N = Dark Red Corinthian Vinyl & Red Granada Pattern Vinyl / 81 = 81B Ranger Cab.

C = Ford type 3.03 3Speed Manual all Syncromesh Transmission.

17 = Ford 9" Rear Axle / 3.25-1 / non Limited Slip / 3,300 lb. Rear Axle Capacity.

5,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

175 net HP @ 4,000 RPM

63 = Memphis TN Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

Incorrect. A DSO code with two numbers refers to the District SALES OFFICE the vehicle was ordered from.

IF the DSO code has 4 additional numbers, the vehicle is a Domestic Special Order.
