High Idle Speed
I have noticed lately that my '92 F-250 (5.8 351) has been idling VERY high. Even when warm, the idle speed is upwards of 2000 rpm's (yikes). I recently had the clutch rebuilt, and replaced an alternator, but am lead to believe these things shouldnt matter. Besides which, the guy who did the work on the clutch said he noticed before the work was done. Any ideas what could be causing this absurd behavior of my engine???

Idle speed is controlled by the IAC valve. Most likely it's got a build-up of crud in it that's causing the plunger to stick open. Here's more info on it:
