Even though it is a practically indestructable transmission, they are dropping in price since it has no overdrive. Fuel mileage will be on the low side if you want to run 65 or 70 MPH.
Low in the diesels was 4.14 to 1
In the gassers it was in the 5.7_ to 1 range
Still it lacks overdrive, I have one in mine.
Interstate travel at 70 MPH puts me in the 12 MPG range with 3.55's and 33" tires.
With fuel climbing the way it is, I think the 4 speed is going to get low dollars.
Sad because it is the toughest tranny Ford offered behind the diesel.
Mine has over 300K on it, all hauling and towing very heavy loads.
cool,thanks for the info. i have a c-6 w/3.55's and 285's. i would like o.d. but i don't drive thjat fast anyway. the 4spd went bye-bye.one less vehicle in the drive now!
I was just by the salvage yard here today.
The going price for a T 19 is between 4 and 5 hundred, but he also told me the price is dropping rather fast with the fuel price increases.
Fuel went to 2.899 here today, I figure the salvage price for overdrive trannies went up as well.
