i replaced them because i was told that the motor was rebuilt but didnt trust it as i already needed intake gaskets not 3 mths after a rebuild and upon removeal i found my head was cracked so just preventitive maintence...
when its running is the exaust flow normal ? I had a cat clog on an old pontiac it didnt run for **** until I cut the cat opened I drilled a hole in it and took all the little beads out of it then welded it back shut never a prob after that .
well i replaced both heads with brand new remanufactured stock heads... and now that u guys mention it the flow out the tail wasnt really all that good.... i mean i plan on going catless when i do the exhaust but that wont be till after shes running so ill cut her out.....
well i pulled the cat tonight ... looked thro it can seee fer miles literal nothing in it at alll ... cant strt her tonight but will in the morning and illl let u guys no if it helped any
Glowing exhaust indicates either a lean condition, or improper timing. The no power also tells me the timing is way off. Cylinders are numbered starting at the front on the passenger side 1 2 3 4, and 5 6 7 8 on the drivers side. Make sute you're got your distributor in right. I think in '89 it's EFI, so you might try changing the fuel filter.
welll cut the cat off only to find someone already had her gutted so i got nothiong out of the night she stll wont top oyut at more then 25 so idk now besides timing....being offf..... now i was told im runniong really lean how do i fix that
yea i cant thank you guys enuff i no im not very outhere with helping others but with ypur guyses help ill be sure to help the next time i think i have an idea.. but how would i make the truck run a bit richer
