I have installed 5-6 of these. I like the resulting shift quality. With light loads and normal driving the transmission shifts nice and gentle but with heavy loads and more throttle the shifts are nice and crisp.
I have never modified the valve body of an E4OD. A mechanical modification is too permanent for me. You have to depend on somebodies ideas for a change and if it damages the transmission it probably would be your fault in their eyes. The banks can be unpluged and jumpered to go back to Ford programing so if you have to go to a dealer for service they would be able to diagnose problems in the transmission without guessing if the valve body mods are causing a problem.
