wiper switch

for a '69 or similiar years what is the correct connections for a wiper/washer switch.

Orange w/white stripe
Black
Green w/black stripe
Orange w/yellow stripw

A quick continuity check shows that the black and orange w/yellow are the same.(zero ohms)
The washer pump shows to be the green and the above mentioned black or orange w/yellow.
If I apply 12 volts to orange w/white using frame as ground the wiper motor works poorly and the switch doesn't control on/off or speed. its always on. No other application of 12v works to drive the wiper.

I went through this exercise a few months ago, everything was ok. I guess I should have writen down the color codes at that time.
