I have had my Excursion for 6 years and I am pleased with the vehicle. I have had one problem twice my rear back panel window has fallen out, Both times I had the entire unit replaced which last about two years. This has happened again on the drivers side I have not had any issues with the passenger side. I was wonering if anyone else has had this issue an resolved the problem.
The whole window fell off? YIKES! I bet that was pricey to fix. I've wondered in the past how sturdy the opening mechanism is, since it supports the weight of the entire window. Did you hit a bump or something while it was opened? I haven't heard of this before....do tell.
the glue on the two support brackets gave way the window was hanging from the mechanism. no bumps it just gave way. So far no one else has heard of this problem.
I have been in the glass business for about 17 years and yours is the first Excursion Ive heard about this problem.
This happened to the original quarter glass? Who replaced it? - they should fix it for free if the brackets are still installed and they can see it came unbonded. Was it replaced with a Carlite? Make sure it was replaced with a OEM window with all the mounts already bonded to the glass. Ive had this problem with other cars that I had to bond the parts myself and aftermarket brands that have poor quality (PPG)
Yes this happened with the original glass both times the bond has broken between the glass and the support bracklets. Thanks for the advise I will be sure to let the dealer know.
