Hi,
I hope someone can help me with this problem. We have an 86 Bronco (Eddie Bauer edition) and it was running fine till a couple of days ago. It started to bog down as we were driving down the road and yesterday it just died on us. We let it sit for about 15 minutes and then got it going again. Is this problem related to the modulator and if so, is there an easy way to fix it?. BTW, we just had a different fuel tank installed about a month ago. Would this have anything to do with it bogging down? Perhaps some 'crud' or something built up in the fuel line and blocked it for a little bit? Any information would be incredibly helpful.
Thanks...Dave.
it might be vapor locking losen your gas cap next time it does it if it sucks in a lot of air thats the problem. I had to drill a little home in my bronco's cap for the same reason. or it could be the fuel filter Good luck
Jeff
Which "modulator" are you referring to? Probably the best, first thing to do when you suspect a fuel delivery issue is to put a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail and test the fuel pressure.
Also, pulling codes, especially on an '86, is a good thing to do in the early stages of diagnosis.
