Help!!
Hi, I am not the biggest on working on vehicles, I kow a lil...but I am lost...my truck 1968 F100...ran great one day...and the next started backfiring...I replced plugs, wires, cap rotor...and now...it is cranking to slow to start and the relay starts smoking it gets so hot...any ideas on how i can fix this?

You may have screwed up the firing order. If your motor is an FE, the firing order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8. The cylinders on the right side (passenger) are numbers one through four, front to back and five through eight on the left side. For starters, identify the wire that runs from #1 to the distributor. Then start tracing your other wires. Moving in a counter-clockwise direction on the distributor cap, your wires should follow the above order.
