alright in august, when i was done rebuilding the engine, and putting it all back together, i did the timing. i didnt really konw what i was doing, but i did it good enough to last nearly a year working fine.
well i checked it today, and it was at like 40 degrees or something. REALLY off. when i made it closer to the 10 degree mark, it got worse and worse. if i moved it the other way, it ran better, but if i go too far it starts missing.
its an 81 with the i6. i dont know what a spout is, unless thats the vacuum advance. i did block off the vacuum advance and the yellow line that runs into it
It could be that your harmonic balancer hub has slipped. You need to put #1 piston at TDC on the compression stroke and see if the timing marks line up. If it is way off, get a new harmonic balancer and reset the timing.

hmm i didnt know there was timing marks. i just drew a line with a crayon
Then I would suggest that your plug wires are shifted one hole in the distributor cap. 6 cylinder engines fire every 60 degrees, and that sounds like about how far you're off. Brian
