V-10 Horsepower ?

Alot of my friends worship my truck and always ask the horsepower rating....I'm thinking mid 300's ? I have Flowmaster super 50 exhaust, Performance Air Ram Intake, and the amazing Tornado, haha. What would yall think it is ? It's a 99 F-250 SD w/ a 2000 V-10 ( is the 2000 model a 3v ?)

Sorry, but No, the V10 3v did not appear until 2005 model year. Yours is a 2v V10.

I've heard people talk about 3v's needing more back pressure, since mines a 2v a I'm thinkin of takin of the Super 50 muffler and putting on 36 inch cherry bomb glass packs.

Just a clarification...the 99 and older are 275 hp, 2000 - 2004 are 310 hp, 425 ft lbs - 2005 and newer 362 hp.

My good friend has a 92 chevy w/ a 454 straight pipes w/ 32in cherry bombs only on the pipes, very loud ! my old neighbor had a 98 4door duelly chevy w/ a 454 and straight pipes w/ no cat or mufflers and boy was it loud, every morning around 6am he would wake us up starting it and he was a good 100 yards away, our windows shook and you could hear him a 1/2 mile down the road when he hit the highway,

so is it safe to say my truck has at least 350 horses w/ the mods i have ? also does hooker make headers for this motor ? also....whats yalls take on boring out the exhaust ports on the 2v for more flow ? i know the ports are rather small.

You don't have 350HP right now in your truck. If your lucky, you might have gained 15HP, 20HP if it was a full exhaust system starting with headers. With the exhaust, intake, and a chip, you might be able to see a 40HP increase but that is pushing the limit.

You may have gained 15 hp if your lucky with all the mods. As for the cherry bombs if you want it loud thats the way to go, I hope your not expecting it to sound like the 454, It will sound more like a pissed off Indy car. From what I've heard the longer the glass pack the less back pressure there is, but I could be wrong. You could port the cylinder heads to gain hp, but it might be easier to look into the PI heads used on the later 310 HP 2V V10's.

I would like to hear this 3030 muffler on a V-10, do they have these single in dual out ? thats what I've got now in Flowmaster. Whats the sound difference between the 3030 and 3030XL ?

you in brass tacks have gained 0 hp on the rollers . all those mods do is make noise and i have prived it on my 3 valve 05. you need a very good sct custom tune and a blower kit to really make power out of a v10. as to the muffler i guess you like to sound like a ricer going down the road because thats all thats going to happen with a cherry bomb muffler.
sorry guy i have tryed all the little bolt on's just to see what and what did not work to the some of 5k in cash. put the good money in the bank for a rainie day when you can use it better.

The 3030 muffler I have is a single in dual out, so this will fit your exhaust system. This is from their website:
SKU#: AT3030XL -View Details

Click for details Designed to give your Truck or SUV an incredible performance increase while maintaining a tone that is similar to stock sound levels. The Aero Turbine XL Series 3030XL incorporates a resonator with the technology of the Aero Turbine 3030 into one unit.
$249.00

That means the XL Series is not as loud as the 3030 muffler that I have.

I know I'm dragging up an antiquated thread but I just purchased a 2008 f-250 cc with the 3v V10 and I'm looking for the best custom performance tune. Who do you reccomend to get a custom SCT tune from and what are some realistic expectations regarding horsepower gains.

Thanks
