My 72 F100 has some "unique" wiring (as in a mess). My grandfather wired the horn and washers to a fuse box on the right wheel well near the starter solenoid and pushed in the wires via the fuse (as in the fuse itself holds in the wire). When I tried to wire them to the wire coming from that terminal on the fuse box I get nothing, but when I put it back the old way it works. What gives?
This could be easy or hard, first do you have power at the old(original) fuse block for these circuits? If yes it is the wiring from fuse box to the load. If no then you need to get power to the fuse first.

Well, do you mean the original fuse box under the dash? Probably not for these circuits. I should be able to tie these in to other circuits that are already there in that fuse box right? In other words, should all of the original wiring be going through that under dash fuse box? What is the best method for putting multiple circuits to these 5 termeinals? If someone could walk me through this it would be great.
There was no fuse box under the hood near the battery, so the old one may be dead for some reason.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
I know the one near the battery is not original, and the one under the dash is still there and has circuits on it, but the lights, horn, and washers no longer go to it. Krazd, I read in another post you have diagrams, would you happen to have one for a '72 you could email me?
Today I went through the wiring and thinned it out (some of them weren't even connected to anything!). I now have 7 which consists of the blinkers, taillights, brakelights, heater blower motor, flashers, ignition wire from neutral safety switch and backup lights. These are all wired to in-line fuses. I have a spare under dash style fuse box that I would like to mount beside the starter solenoid and create a "mini-harness" to this vice the inline fuses. I would also need to include the horn and the cigarette lighter, which I have tempoarily disconnected. I just need to figure out how to get power to the fuse box. I know this sounds crazy to some but in my situation it would be easier and way cheaper than a wiring harness. I appreciate the help!!
hey i have a 1970 f100 that i did some electrical work on, somebody tryed to put in a trailer wiring harness and messed up... you can try an autowrecker and steal a wiring harness used. I pulled the rear wiring harness for my truck, plugged it in and it worked. it cost me $20
