Pwr Steering/Brake problems

I have been experiencing brake problems and steering problems with my 2000 Ex PSD. At low speed/RPM my wheel is hard to turn, and is agravated by using the brakes. Any ideas?

I believe that both your powersteering and brake assist are ran by the Power steering pump. Are you getting whinning from your pump or is it leaking. If the fluids are low or the pump is going bad then you will have problems with both the brake assist and the power steering assist. I am sure on the PSD the brakes are not vacumn assist so I would look at you Power steering pump.

Keep searching these forums. You'll find lots of people that have had that problem, myself included. I replaced the Pump (remanufactured), the gearbox (junkyard), the Hydroboost (Junkyard) (I belive the purpose of the hydroboost is to store enough pressure for 2 complete brake cycles in the event that the engine stalls.), the high pressure lines (Brand new). Nothing seems to fix it. I just had it back to ford again, and they told me that they have seen similar probelms only on Ambulances, and they are usually from a defective steering stabalizer, or tie rod ends. Guess what? I replace both, and still no luck. If someone ever figures this out, please let me know.
