Hey,all! I recently sent an e-mail to: info@dennis-carpenter.com suggesting that they consider manufacturing the radiator support for the '67-'72 pickup. I explained that this item is nearly impossible to find in good condition and that it is much in demand. I suggested that with the high demand they would probably find it a profitable undertaking. I recieved a polite response frm them stating that "This issue is already being discussed. Thank you for your input."
I would like to suggest that those who are interested in having the radiator support manufactured send an e-mail to the above adress. Politely request that they consider it and explain that with high demand it would be profitable. I know my '68 F-100 could use a new one. I have read several posts wanting to know where to get them.
Maybe together we can get a source going. And then maybe Ken can add it to the store, which is where I'd buy it. But nobody will make it unless they know there is a market for it. Let's show them there is!
I was about ready to pull my hair out trying to find one of those things in good shape, and my fiance was being kept up at nights by my consistant talking about it.
I am in the process of swapping the ps/pdb front-end, column, 302/C4 and other parts from a '73 longbed to my '68 shortbed (orig man drums/man steer 300-3spd). Seeing as how the cab, fenders, grille, and hood are all different between the two trucks I didn't think the core supports would interchange, but I laid the 73 over the 68 and they are the same! The 73 has some additional holes and the radiator hole is larger, but since I was planning on using the 73 radiator anyway . . . my orig 68 is pretty much gone as far as the bottom 4" are concerned, but the 73 is real nice. I guess I lucked out for once.
Watch the classifieds on this site. I have a '67-'72 support that I found at the "yard" and it is in good condition (surface rust only). I bought the part even though I didn't need it because I figured someone else could. I have not done any classifieds yet so I'll need to figure out how. Should be there this weekend. Also what would be a fair price to ask for one?
