Final Lift Q's

After reading the FAQ's, the lift sitcky, and other forum posts, I think I am ready to buy my lift. I just have a few clarifying Q's.

I'm looking to buy this 6" Tuff Country lift. I'll be doing normal street driving with a few trips into the mountains per year. http://www.suspensionconnection.com/cgi-bin/suscon/268144.html

It does not say 'bronco' in the title but it will fit, correct? Also, I will need shocks. (I read that the ones that are an option with this kit are not very nice) What are some recommendations for the best cost vs performance shock. I'm cutting it close here.

Also, I need extended brake lines. Any place in particular or should I find a local shop to buy them at?

Anything else I need?? Thanks a lot.

-Chris

I'd phone them first and make sure that your $869.95 investment WILL fit onto your vehicle. Otherwise, you could be pretty mad when it doesn't.

The Tuff Country kits should list the Fullsize Bronco/F-150's together. If you aren't buying direct from them (don't think you can anymore), you can cross-reference the kit numbers on their website to make certain that what you are ordering is indeed the correct kit. I will be running Bilsteins with my 4" Tuff Country once I get everything back together in the transmission dept. They are pricey though. There a plenty of good quality shocks available; just a matter of researching it a bit. Monroe, Gabriel, Rancho, and Pro Comp are all names that come to mind. As for extended brake lines, I run Pro Comp's braided stainless ones under my truck... love 'em.

For shocks I'd recomend Skyjacker Nitros (or Rancho RS5000) for the front and Skyjacker Hydros for the rear(if your on a budget) and get them from summitracing.com(free shipping).
For brake lines, Broncograveyard.com sells some for $35 each(only need 2), and should be the same quality as Pro comp's, just I don't know the price on Pro comps.

Um, actually you need three. The rear line from the frame to the top of the differential housing must be extended as well.

My truck only needed 2.
One for the rear like you said, and one for the front, because the one for the front went down to the diff and from the diff there were 2 small lines going to the brakes that didn't need to be extended. Then to, mine is a 79 and things could of very well changed.

Yep, your 79 has a solid Dana44 front axle whereas the 1980-96's had the TTB Dana44 which needs a spearate line for each front wheel because of the independent front suspension.

Let me know how you like that lift when you get it on. I was looking at that same one for my 94 Bronco
