Im brand new to the 6.0 ps diesel world. However I have a friend who is and works as a Ford Mech. He told me the problem with the injectors is that if you were to run it low or out of fuel, that air can get into the fuel line. If this happens, air bubbles get into the injectors, and something about this ruins them.
The fuel that is in the injectors acts as a cushin, and if air gets into them, no cushin. This can ruin them, maybe even blow them completly out.
I am only repeating what I was told, and I do not claim to know first hand about this issue. He did also say that they are covered under the 100 K powertrain warrantee.
There is something else going on here. Mods maybe?
But even then, isn't there a law that states that the dealership has the obligation to explain how the equipment failure is associated to the mods. In other words, doesn't the dealer need to show how the mods caused the failure.
I'm guessing this is the reason for denial of warranty. I think Marine1 could use some insight on his rights to dispute this. JMO
Ask the dealer to write up a repair estimate.
When you get it, tell him you are going to fax it to the Ford Regional Service manager for an explanation of why warranty was denied, and a copy to your state's Attorney Generals office for investigation of warranty fraud......
Take a picture of the look on his face and post it!!
