Cruise control issues
so my cruise control worked fine on my old engine (302) before that let go and **** all over itself but when the new engine (302 Jasper) was put in by a good friend to my dads who owns a mechanic shop, the cruise control no longer works. im unsure but me and my dad came to the conclusion he forgot to hook it back up when he put the new engine in.....any other suggestions? if this is the case what does this involve to hook it back up?

Depends on just what all is still disconnected. In 90 the control part of the system still used a large vacuum dashpot on the driver's inner fender that does the "holding" of the throttle. Electrically there are several components that make up the system. The obvious switch assembly, the control module and the servo module. The power feed for the system is a WHITE/PURPLE wire from fuse #6 that feeds the control module AND the electronic shift control module for the T-case if your truck has the electronic shift case. The system relys on information from the VSS, the clutch interlock switch or the bypass jumper if your have an automatic and of course a ground to the control module. The servo module is through-wired from the control module and the switch assembly is obviously buried in the steering wheel. If the horn still works, you still have power to the switch assembly. If this doesn't help, let me know.
