I have a 1994 F250 Turbo Diesel (not a powerstroke). The guy who I bought the truck off of said that 'any parts for the truck I order a 94. Any parts for the engine I order 93.' because they put some 93 engines in the 94 trucks. Anyway, it isn't a powerstroke diesel. Does that make it an IDI?? Also I want to put a performance chip in it and I would like to know if I can even do it and if so what make/model of chip is the best for my engine??
Thanks, how do I know if it is an IDI?? I know I have a manual fuel linkage on it because I wanted to put a fast idle on truck and I could do it because of the manual fuel linkage. What is a PS and where can I get a good one? I want to get more power out of it. Is chipping them bad for the engine in terms of blowing gaskets and stuff like that?
There is a big difference between turbo and PowerStroke. Some turbo diesels were electric and some were mechanical. If the 93 parts fit it, than it is mechanical and can't be chipped, however you can turn more fuel to it.

Regards,
F250Turbodiesel: PS means Power Stroke, and you can get good ones everywhere.....
F250 slow down and do some research or you could destroy your engine....I would think your truck already has a pyrometer and you have made yourself aware of the correct temps/boost to maintain so as not to blow up the engine or melt the pistons.
