i have a 77 f-250 crewcab 4x4 with a/c and a 4 speed manual transmission that i am swaping in a 460 the engine is going to be a mild build will the direct fit be cool rad with eletric fans be enough to cool my truck? im thinking the engine is going to make about 400+ hp befor i put it in any truck and the truck is going to be lifted and have 38 inch tires. dose any one have a be cool rad or is their a different aluminum rad made by a different company.

I have a Trailer Special with the super cooling rad (a new one at that, 4 core) and I still run a little warm on 90 degree days, without towing. In another thread, I mentioned I will be installing an aftermarket temp gauge. I can't believe this monster of a rad would not cool a stock 460 well enough.
Replacement is a Modine. The big rad on these 460 trucks uses a different core support with a larger cutout and different mount system, but I think you can make it work with some fabbing.
is this be cool rad enough to cool my truck with a/c or what would i need to do to add some extra compacity or make it work? going to need to order a rad soon to finsh my truck.

Use a high volume water pump. The larger radiator has the effect of slowing down the speed of the coolant through the tubes, setting up a laminar flow. The increased speed of flow with the HD pump will generate a turbulant flow through the tubse which greatly increases efficiency.
The high output pump will also increase pressure inside the block, increasing the boiling point around the exhaust ports.
1975FORD, what do you mean by 'good cooling fan'?
I am using the stock fan, as I do with all my vehicles...
It is a non-clutch-type fan, 5 blade. What would be better? I looked at aftermarket aluminum flex fans, but they look flimsy...
I will try anything as long as it's not expensive... (and as long as my problem isn't just the gauge)

This is my setup for my mild built 390FE...in my F150 4" lift 33" tires. Works GREAT...and very happy with the results. Especially in the desert SW...with all this heat we have.
Griffin Alum Radiator:
Direct bolt-in. No modifications needed.

FWIW...I originally purchased a be-cool radiator...and did not care for the smaller size...and mods I would have to make. Returned...and purchased the Griffin.
