Question How Are the New Wrangler MT/R's on Snow and Ice ?

I know the season's gone but I will be taking my truck North soon & there's still serious snow up there. How will the NEW MT/R's handle Ice & Snow ?

I have not had them on my super duty, however, on my chevy 1/2 ton, they were the best snow and ice tire I have ever had. No lie, the stick better on ice than bridgestone a/t and bfg a/t.

I had them on my GMC 2500HD and never needed 4wd in snow with them. I thought they were great and I'm waiting for the tires on my F350 to wear out now so I can get an other set.

How is the noise level with the MT/R's? I want a more aggressive tire on my X and the wife wants a quite tire.

I agree, they suck in the snow and rain. I have had a few sets of both goodyear and bfg MTs.

They suck on the road in snow and ice (no siping). Off road snow they do ok.

These are off road tires, not A/T tires. They are meant for rock climbing and very rough/steep ground (that can be covered in mud or snow).

They will be good in mud and snow on the highway, but not the best.

They will be bad on the highways and streets in dry weather, and worse in the rain.

Everything is relative, though. Somoe people just buy the cheapest tires they can get, and never get into an accident. Some people buy tires because they look cool.

I just put a set of Wrangler Silent Armor's on. They are A/T types, not off road.
