It's wierd because it doesn't happen everytime i go to start the truck.. my dad works at ford and can get me a new starter for $190. so if i eliminate my options that is where i will go next. what is a good price for a CPS?
I would not think it was weak or bad batteries. I would figure if it was then it would not do anything the second time he cycled the key switch. I would lean more towards a bad switch, clutch or even the key switch. And then I would suggest either the starter or the starter relay. GL
When my starter went bad it just wouldn't turn it over fast enough on the first try always had to hit it twice sometimes 3 trys before it would start. But like was said before go get your batteries load tested make sure that they test them one at a time with the cables off.
