my wife and i are fixin to go up to Fort Wayne Indiana this weekend, we were gonna stay with a friend in the next town over (30 mile extra drive) but with gas goin UP AND UP AND UP, we wanna stay in Fort Wayne to save some gas, so anyway heres my question, whats the biggest air mattress that will fit in a 1995 Aero Shorty with all the seats out?
Thanks for the quick responses, im gonna be shopping for one in the next day or so.
I haven’t actually tried putting a bed in my aero, but I measured the width once and if I remember correctly it seems like it was about 4 ft wide at the narrowest point and roughly 7 feet long in my 93 aero sport. I may double check those measurements and get back you but my van is full of junk so I might not be able to get a measurement.
we fit a queen air mattress in an XLT with plenty of room left over at end, a squeeze at the wheel wells but plenty of room for 2...get one with the flocking fibers on it...prevents the sheets from sliding around and off the side
ok so i only have about 45" between the wheelwells, but about 80" or more in length, is it possible to still fit a queen or double sized Doublehigh air mattress in the van w/o hurting the airmattress? does anybody know?
the dimensions for a queen are about 77"L x 61"W and double 75"L x 54"W my wife and i woudl be sleeping on this, or i wouldnt need one this big. thanks for any advice
I measured mine and the numbers seem close to yours, however to answer your question, it seems like a tight fit to me. perhaps if you inflate the mattress in the van and have it conform the contour of your Vehicle?
been using our queen Coleman for 8 years, just drop in between wheel wells deflated and inflate to desired firmness, our's has separate left and right air chambers...get the 12v electric air pump
I just got twin size sheets and threw them over the seats when they are reclined down. Prob not as comfortable but easier to fold up and go. I do like taking one of the seats out when driving just to get better mileage But I am just worried about the mice
There is 2 sofas in my aero and i dont use mattress to lay down inside to have some sleep, especially with girlfriend... But I have 2 pillows in my van!

Oh, please tell us how the sheets were sliding around
If you're gonna do this more than once, make a frame (or 2 benches) of 2x2s, just a tad narrower than the cargo hold width, above the fender wells, and from the back door to back of the front seats. Put some wooden legs under it, and plywood on top. Presto, your bed size got wider, and you've got built in storage underneath.
